JP and Kaye Torres wedding

"My lover is mine, and I am His". Song of Solomon 2:16
With that Bible verse, the union of JP and Kaye were sealed in a very solemn and romantic christian wedding last February 7, 2009 at The Mango Farm in Antipolo. It was a very exciting and lovely evening for everyone. The bride, Kaye, was beaming and looked gorgeous in her wedding gown. It was one of the most blissful wedding I've been to. It's always great to hear family members expressing and pouring out their thoughts in words, and JP and Kaye's message to their family were heartfelt. The celebration was made more special because it was also a get-together for me and my former officemates and good friends, Carlo, Jovi and Sondi. Where are you Rose? hehehe... To the newly weds, JP and Kaye, may your love continue to inspire everyone around you. My best wishes, hugs and love for you on your blessed union. I love you guys!!!
Here's a little video I made. Hope you like it!!!

Are you renewing your Philippine Passport?

Then read on. I just got home from the DFA (Department of Foreign Affairs) office in Pasay City, Philippines to renew my passport. Before I went there, I've heard how tedious and time consuming a passport renewal would be from a friend who went to the DFA office as early as 6am to fall in line and meet the cut off for the passport renewal because only a certain number of applicants can be entertained in a day. It took her four hours just to accomplish a seemingly daunting task. WTF?!!! There's no way I'm gonna wake up early just to fall in line for a passport renewal. So I thought of googling my way out of this burden... and I did. Passport applicants can now enjoy a convenient way of getting their new passports through Pilipinas Teleserv. I was glad to know that the service includes document pick up. A representative from their courier went to my home last Wednesday to pick up all my requirements- old passport, 3 passport pictures, photocopies of my passport and the 1,300 Php fee. Then they scheduled me for a DFA appointment this morning. I arrived at 10:30am and I saw a representative on the Evangelista gate of the DFA with a Teleserv signage and approached him. I didnt even have to fall in line at the main gate. The representative, whose name skipped my mind, told me to go directly to their booth inside. When I got there, I was escorted to one of their special window where I signed the application form, which they have filled up for me, and affixed my thumb mark and was told the process was over and I should just wait for the passport to be delivered. It took me less than 10minutes. Whew!!! Regular processing would take about 8 working days to get their new passport, with Teleserv it takes 10 working days and it will be delivered to your home. It's a few days longer but it saves me the burden of going back to the DFA office. I was so pleased with their service and their representatives were very courteous. I just hope the passport would be delivered on schedule.

Life Lessons

I received this email from my aunt. I thought it was a good read so I want to share it. Enjoy.

I dreamed I had an interview with God.

“Come in,” God said. “So, you would like to interview me?”

“If you have the time,” I said.

God smiled and said: “My time is eternity and is enough to do everything; what questions do you have in mind to ask me?”

“What surprises you most about mankind?”

God answered:
“That they get bored of being children, are in a rush to grow up, and then long to be children again. That they lose their health to make money and then lose their money to restore their health. That by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live neither for the present nor for the future. That they live as if they will never die, and they die as if they have never lived…”

God’s hand took mine and we were silent for a while and then I asked… “ As a parent, what are some of life’s lessons you want your children to learn?”

God replied with a smile:
“To learn that they cannot make anyone love them. What they can do is to let themselves be loved. To learn that what is most valuable is not what they have in their lives, but who they have in their lives. To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others. All will be judged individually to their own merits, not as a group on a comparison basis. To learn that a rich person is not the one who has the most, but is one who needs the least. To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in persons we love, and that it takes many years to heal them. To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness. To learn that there are persons that love them dearly, but simply do not know how to express or show their feelings. To learn that money can buy everything but happiness. To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see it totally different. To learn that a true is someone who knows everything about them… and likes them anyway. To learn that it is not always enough that they be forgiven by others, but they have to forgive themselves.”

I sat there for a while enjoying the moment, I thanked Him for His time and for all that He has done for me and my family, and He replied, “Anytime. I’m here 24 hours a day. All you have to do is ask for Me, and I’ll answer.”

People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel.
